A senior source at the Cairo Metro revealed the operating schedule for the three metro lines in conjunction with the start of the new academic year, with the aim of ensuring regular train services and facilitating the movement of students and citizens throughout the day.
The source explained that the first metro trains on the lines will depart at 5:15 a.m. The first train will leave Rod El-Farag Axis Station heading toward Adly Mansour, while the first train from Adly Mansour toward Rod El-Farag Axis will depart at 5:20 a.m.
According to the operating schedule, the last train on Line 3 will leave Adly Mansour toward Rod El-Farag Axis at 11:29 p.m., and toward Cairo University at 11:33 p.m. Meanwhile, the last train from Cairo University toward Adly Mansour will depart at 11:52 p.m., while the last train from Rod El-Farag Axis toward Adly Mansour will depart at 11:55 p.m.
On Line 1, the last trains will depart from Helwan and New El-Marg stations at 11:40 p.m. On Line 2, the last train will leave Shubra El-Kheima at 11:55 p.m., while the last train from El-Mounib Station will depart at 12:05 a.m.
Regarding interchange times between the lines, the last trains on Lines 2 and 3 will meet at Cairo University Station for passenger transfers at 11:45 p.m.
Jamal Abdel Nasser and Ataba stations will serve as the final interchange points between the lines. Passengers can transfer between Lines 1 and 3 at Jamal Abdel Nasser Station and between Lines 2 and 3 at Ataba Station until 12:55 a.m. At Anwar El-Sadat (Sadat) Station, the last trains of Lines 1 and 2 will meet for interchange at 12:25 a.m.
Metro network operations will continue until 1:00 a.m., which is the scheduled time for the final journeys to end and the stations to close, in accordance with the operating plan introduced alongside the start of the new academic year.
These timings are part of an operational plan designed to accommodate the expected increase in passenger numbers, particularly students and workers, at the beginning of the academic year and to maintain regular train services throughout the day.
