Higher Education Launches “Know Before You Apply” Series for High School Students

Higher Education: Second-Phase preference registration extended through today

The Coordination Office for Admission to Public Universities and Institutes has decided to extend the preference registration period through today, following the directives of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, in the interest of students and to provide second-phase students with additional time to complete their preference registration.

The Coordination Office stated that second-phase students will be able to register their preferences until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, instead of the previously announced deadline of 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research urges students who have not yet completed their preference registration to promptly access the electronic coordination website, enter and rank their preferences, and carefully review them before final submission. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the extended registration period.

The Ministry also cautioned students who fail to register their preferences within the specified period that they will be assigned based on the available places at colleges and institutes and in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the coordination process.

The Ministry further confirmed that the electronic coordination website allows students to register or modify their preferences 24 hours a day throughout the registration period. Students can also benefit from the computer labs at public universities, which provide free technical and guidance support during official working hours.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research calls on students and parents to rely on the Ministry’s official platforms for accurate and up-to-date information regarding the university admission coordination process and to avoid rumors or information circulated by unofficial sources.
