Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber announced that the historic Magra El-Oyoun aqueduct will soon host the second edition of the “Street of Art” initiative, in cooperation with the Academy of Arts. This follows the restoration and upgrading of a 2,500 m² area adjacent to the aqueduct, which will be used for artistic and cultural activities.
Governor Saber stated that the "Street of Art" initiative serves as a unique model for transforming the capital’s streets into open spaces dedicated to art, culture, and creativity. This initiative reflects Cairo’s rich civilizational and cultural identity while reinforcing its status as a beacon of arts and culture.
Saber also expressed the governorate’s aspiration to further develop the experience and expand the scope of artistic and cultural events across numerous streets and neighborhoods of the capital, thereby contributing to a unique cultural experience that befits Cairo’s historic and civilizational stature.
Moreover, Saber stated that the governorate is committed to ensuring the initiative serves as a genuine platform for discovering young talents, supporting artists and creators, and providing them with opportunities to express their creativity and reach audiences—especially students and youth.
Saber added that the diversity of artistic and cultural events hosted by these initiatives demonstrates the vast creative energy Cairo possesses, noting that art and culture are among the most important tools for building awareness and strengthening national identity and a sense of belonging.
The governor also stated that Cairo continues to support and promote cultural and artistic events, enhancing initiatives that enable both residents and visitors to enjoy a wide range of activities in open-air settings throughout various parts of the city.
