Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mahmoud Esmat asserted that the ministry continues its efforts to implement necessary measures in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directive to advance renewable energy and battery storage projects in Egypt. He emphasized finishing these projects aligns with the state's energy transition plan, which aims to expand renewable energy initiatives, develop energy storage systems, and increase the share of clean energy in the energy mix to 45% by 2028.
This update was provided during the minister’s meeting with a delegation from Tahya Misr Holding Company for Investment and Development (Tahya Misr Authority), led by Mahmoud Nour. The discussion focused on the progress of solar energy, wind energy, and energy storage battery projects.
The meeting, attended by Adel El-Hariri, Permanent Member for Studies and Designs at the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, and Arabi Mustafa, Head of the Central Department for the Minister’s Office Affairs, focused on the progress of work and execution priorities within the established timelines. The goal is to complete the projects and connect them to the national electricity grid by 2027 and 2028.
