The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects a “return to the cold weather” in northern Egypt and a general decline in temperatures that will affect all parts of the nation in the next two days.
This comes a few days after Egypt has witnessed a slight rise in temperatures nationwide after weeks of bad weather in an exceptionally cold winter.
The EMA says Cairo will record highs of 16 and lows of 10 in the coming 48 hours, expecting mild to moderate rains over the North Coast, extending to Cairo and southern Lower Egypt on Wednesday during night-time.
On Thursday, moderate rainfall is expected over parts of the North Coast and northern Lower Egypt, and mild rains may pour over southern Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, and Sinai.
North-eastern coastal cities may also see mild rainfall on Friday, according to the EMA.
Furthermore, high wind speeds are expected across the country, which will lead to seemingly colder weather and five-meter-high waves in the Mediterranean Sea over the coming two days.
Warm weather will prevail in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt during the day-time in the coming week, however, the entire country will experience extremely cold weather during the night, with frosty weather expected in northern Upper Egypt and Central Sinai.
After the next 48 hours, Greater Cairo and Lower Egypt will be experiencing highs of 16 to 20 degrees Celsius and lows of 10 to 11 degrees until Monday.
