Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber witnessed the launch ceremony of the Historical and Civilizational Awareness Development Campaign for the "Who Are We" initiative at the Youth Development Center in Asmarat City.
During the ceremony, Saber said the campaign comes as part of the preparations for the launch of the national project and the presidential initiative for human development, "A New Beginning for Building the Human Being." whose primary goal is to achieve human and cultural development for Egyptian citizens, especially residents of alternative housing projects, to enhance and elevate these areas.
The "Who Are We" initiative was initiative launched by a civil society organization to revive and promote Egypt's rich cultural heritage and history, raising awareness among various segments of the Egyptian people. It targets children, women, youth, vulnerable groups, and people of determination to reinforce Egyptian identity and instill values of loyalty and belonging to their country.
The initiative includes a cultural week for the children and youth of Asmarat City to implant the moral and cultural values inherited from our ancient Egyptian ancestors. It also aims to establish a museum featuring replicas of the most important archaeological artifacts (exact copies) and several educational workshops on the history of ancient Egypt, teaching the art of making replicas, a brief overview of how to uncover excavations and an artistic celebration.
Moreover, Saber praised the initiative, aiming to raise awareness about Egyptian history and civilization and the achievements of our ancestors and reinforce Egyptian identity while correcting misconceptions about it through a comprehensive program with several educational activities in Egyptology. It will also include seminars, meetings, and visits to archaeological sites. The program will screen documentaries and storytelling about ancient Egyptian civilization. There will also be workshops on heritage and training courses for teaching the ancient Egyptian language (hieroglyphics). Additionally, informative and educational publications will be distributed.
