Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal attended Monday, September 4, 2023, the opening ceremony of the International Mayors Forum on Tourism and Sustainable Cities held in Zhengzhou city, China, from September 4 to 6, 2023, under the theme “Discovering New Driving Force, Promoting Sustainability of Tourism Cities.”
Also attended the ceremony were the Egyptian Minister of Local Development, Hesham Amna, the mayor of Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government, He Xiong, and the Chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Kong Changsheng, along with several Chinese senior political leaders, local development ministers from around the world, mayors, and representatives of international organizations such as UNWTO.
Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal was part of the Egyptian delegation that participated in the forum, headed by the Minister of Local Development Hesham Amna, in addition to Luxor Governor Mustafa Alhm and several officials of the Ministry of Local Development.
The International Mayors Forum on Tourism and Sustainable Cities represents an important platform to promote dialogue among local government leaders to overcome global challenges hindering world tourism’s sustainable development process.
The forum aims to establish a global platform for dialogue among local government leaders, mayors, and officials of different tourism cities on the mutual development of international tourism, tackling common challenges, discovering modern sustainable solutions, and developing local management of tourism sites.
