Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal directed Tuesday Cairo’s Supply Directorate to coordinate with chiefs of districts to intensify inspection campaigns on markets to follow up on the implementation of the initiative of reducing prices of essential commodities launched by Egypt’s Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli to provide strategic and basic commodities to citizens at affordable prices.
Moreover, Abdel Aal urged officials to monitor shops and stores to ensure their commitment to displaying clear and legible price tags on each commodity, confront commercial fraud, price manipulation, and monopoly, and take all necessary legal actions against violators.
In this context, several districts of Cairo launched intensified campaigns on markets and outlets of “Citizens First” to control and monitor commodity prices and quality and take all legal actions against violators.
