Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, accompanied by Commander of the Military Region Major General Fahmy Abdel Raaouf, and First Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of Cairo Security Directorate Major General Ashraf El-Gendy, laid a wreath at the Military Region’s martyr tombs in Al-Khafir area on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day.
Abdel Aal praised the sacrifices and significant role of the armed forces and police officers in defending and upholding the country’s name, safety and security.
Each year on March 9, the Egyptian Armed Forces celebrates Martyrs’ Day in commemoration of the martyrdom of the former Chief of Staff Abdel Moneim Riyad, who sacrificed his life to defend his country.
