Cairo Governor inaugurates traditional handicrafts exhibition

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inaugurated an exhibition for traditional handicrafts at the Lotus Park in the Madinet Nasr neighborhood.

 

During the inauguration ceremony, Abdel Aal stressed the state’s interest in preserving and reviving heritage, which reflects Egypt’s true identity and maintains its historic and pioneering position.

 

Abdel Aal added that preserving traditional crafts of Historic Cairo received full attention from world countries and international and regional organizations, which contributed to Egypt’s accession to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of handicrafts and folklore.   

 

Moreover, Abdel Aal indicated that significant efforts are exerted to market the artisans’ local products and that the Cairo governorate provides full support to all events and activities preserving heritage identity. 

 

The exhibition displays handmade home decorations, woodwork, brass and gemstone accessories, carpets, Nubian exhibits, locally- made furnishings, and natural skin care products.
