Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal attended Wednesday the celebration held by the Cairo governorate to mark Egyptian Woman’s Day and Mother’s Day,  celebrated on March 16 and March 21.

 

During the celebration, Abdel Aal honored ideal mothers and mothers of people of determination and athletes in the presence of Ambassador Moshira Khattab, President of the National Council for Human Rights, Dr. Heba Hagras, member of the House of the Representatives, Rapporteur of the Committee of Women with Disabilities, and several members of the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the National Council for Women.

 

Moreover, Abdel Aal asserted that Mother’s Day symbolizes loyalty and gratitude and underlines the women’s role in society. He also paid tribute to every Egyptian mother who contributed to maintaining the country’s progress and safety.

 

Abdel Aal added that Egyptian women played a significant role with men throughout history. They have been partners in all achievements and supporters of men in all challenges facing Egypt.

 

He also pointed out that Egyptian women have an unprecedented position and appreciation under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s era after women’s empowerment has become one of the state’s top priorities.    

 

Abdel Aal, furthermore, said that political leadership’s belief in women’s role enabled women to lead senior positions in the state, including the post of minister, ambassador, and judge in which they proved their competence.  

 

Attended the celebration are Deputies of Cairo’s four areas, Secretary-General, Assistant Secretary-General, and several executives of the Cairo Governorate.
