Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal chaired the meeting of the preparatory committee of the s Cairo Governorate’s Social Economic Council scheduled next week.
The meeting discussed the preparations for the first session following the directives of the political leadership to boost and support economic development, encourage the private sector, and open constructive and continuous communication channels with investors. That aims to maximize the benefits of environmental services and national projects implemented by the state over the past eight years and also benefit from the developed investment legislations and regulations.
During the meeting, Abdel Aal asserted that the council, with its scientific and economic figures, would effectively contribute to supporting local economic development policies and procedures. It would also help set the governorate’s development vision and strategic plan.
Abdel Aal added that the council would also support the governorate in developing recruitment policies, improving employment conditions, creating sustainable job opportunities, and attracting local and international investments through promoting available investment opportunities.
Furthermore, Abdel Aal said that the council would support the governorate in reviewing initiatives for developing competitive economic blocs, setting up a promoting plan for industrial zones, and reviewing annual and mid-term investment plans. He added that it would provide advice on overcoming and resolving challenges facing investors and back the governorate in adopting new policies to engage citizens and civil society in evaluating and planning new projects.
