Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inspected Saturday 13/02/2021 the development work in the areas around Magra El-Oyoun Fence in Old Cairo. The project is part of an urban rehabilitation plan for historic Cairo.

Madbouli underscored the need to comply with all safety and precautionary measures at the project sites.
He also ordered the removal of any encroachments at the project sites, noting that the project is part of the government's ongoing efforts to restore the cultural identity of Old Cairo and reintegrate the old city in its historic urban landscape.
Meanwhile, Gazzar said that the project, which covers nearly 399,000 square meters, involves establishing an administrative, commercial and entertainment buildings and 70 residential blocks constructed in classical architecture style, offering 1,690 housing units.
The project also includes a number of parking lots, bazaars, restaurants, cafes and an area for heritage handcrafts, the minister pointed out.
He said that the concrete works of residential blocks are expected to be 70 percent complete during this month, indicating that the nearer these buildings are to Magra El-Oyoun Fence, the lower their heights will be to ensure that they are not higher than the historic monument.
