Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal attended Monday the inaugural session of the International Fatwa Conference held in Cairo from 2-3 August under the auspices of President Abdel Al-Fattah El-Sisi under the title of "Fatwa Institutions in the Digital Age... Development Challenges and Cooperation Mechanism" with the participation of 85 countries.
Attended the conference, Minister of Communication and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat on behalf of the Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly, Minister of Islamic Endowments Dr. Mohammad Mokhtar Gomaa and a host of scholars, muftis, Islamic researchers, Al-Azhar Deputy, and representative of Egypt's Church.
The conference, chaired by Egypt Grand Mufti Dr. Shawky Allam, aims to agree on the cooperation mechanism between the fatwa institutions and authorities worldwide to support digital transformation and raise awareness of the importance of digitization, especially in the fight against COVID-19.
