Minister of Health Dr. Hala Zayed and Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal inspected Sunday, September 12, the ongoing construction work of the new Boulaq Abu El-Ela Hospital costing LE 750 million.
Dr. Khaled Megahed, Spokesman of the Health and Population Ministry, said that during the tour, Dr. Hala listened to a detailed explanation from the construction companies about the functional program for the new hospital, which consists of six floors with a capacity of 130 beds, ten outpatient clinics, five operating rooms, an internal pharmacy, and four endoscopy units.
Dr. Khaled added that the new hospital consists of a hemodialysis unit, newborn nurseries, labor and delivery rooms, a Radiology center, a phlebotomy department, and a dental lab.
Moreover, Dr. Khaled pointed out that the new medical complex is on an area of 8 thousand and 800 hundred meters and would consist of 50 medical clinics and centers, an integrated radiology center, Physiotherapy centers, gyms, and medical exhibitions.
Dr. Khaled added that the minister hailed the distinctive geographical location of the new complex of Boulaq Abu El-Ela Hospital located in the heart of Cairo. He also noted that the construction work of the new building was included in the investment plan for 2021/2022 after it was stopped five years ago.
Furthermore, Dr. Hala stressed the need for consulting and construction companies to commit to deadlines and directed to provide accommodation for doctors and nurses, Megahed said in a statement.
For his part, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal said that the new medical complex of Boulaq Abu El-Ela Hospital fulfills the dream of the area's residents of having proper medical services.
Abdel Aal also pointed out that the new building has a unique location in the downtown area and is surrounded by several important institutions and would serve many citizens in the area.
Abdel Aal praised the efforts Dr. Hala Zayed, the Minister of Health and Population, exerted to rebuild the Boulaq Abu El-Ela Hospital to provide the residents with the best medical services.
