Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal honored a number of ideal mothers during a big celebration held by the Cairo governorate under the title "Success Icon and Source of Sacrifice", marking Egyptian Women Day and Mother's Day, celebrated each year on March 21st. The celebration was attended by Dr. Shawky Allam, Egyptian Grand Mufti, several members of Egypt's House of Representatives and Senate, and representatives of the National Council of Women.
During his speech at the celebration, Abdel Aal greeted Egyptian mothers, who reflect the true meaning of sacrifice, patriotism, and loyalty, assuring that Mother's Day celebrates mothers' endless giving, persistence, and struggle for their children and country.
The governor also said that the Egyptian women are a key partner in building the country's future, adding that the current political leadership believes in the importance of women.
Moreover, the governor asserted that Egyptian mother has a leading and effective role in society. She is an educator and a teacher who devotes herself to her family as well as her country.
Abdel Aal also said that all three religions recognized the significant role and the high status of women. In Islam, Allah, the Great and Almighty, commands us to be good and kind to our parents and prophet Mohammad, peace and prayers upon him, honored women greatly.
Furthermore, the governor pointed out that the Egyptian state supports women economically, politically, and socially and provided them with all kinds of care and protection as a recognition of their ability to participate in all fields of life.
