Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal honored Sunday Cairo athletes who won medals during the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games.
The governor awarded the weightlifters Mahmoud Sabry and Fatma Omar, who won silvers medals, and the bronze medalist Hani Mohsen certificates of appreciation and commemorative medals for their achievements and efforts.
Abdel Aal also granted Mrs. Hayat Khattab, a member of Egypt's Senate and Head of the Egyptian Paralympics Committee, the Cairo governorate's shield for the committee's role in supporting Egypt's champions during the games.
Moreover, Abdel Aal said that President El-Sisi also honored the Egyptian champions and granted them sports medals reflecting Egypt's leadership unprecedented support to athletes.
The governor added that those champions proved Egypt's strong will which can overcome obstacles and challenges. He also pointed out that those champions' achievements contributed to uphold their country's name and enhance its position in international sports events and wished them more victories.
