Cairo Governor demands reconciliation applicants to pay 25% of fees for seriousness

Cairo Governor Major-General Khaled Abdel Aal demanded that applicants of reconciliation requests  for construction violations  pay 25% for seriousness so that they can proceed to the other required procedures. Otherwise, the application will be void, pointing out that the authorities will demolish illegal buildings if their owners did not submit reconciliation requests.

The governor also asserted that the applicant would have a full refund in case the application was rejected, but if the request is accepted, it will be deducted from the total fees of the reconciliation request.

The governor further called on citizens to quickly submit reconciliation requests before the deadline set by the law, which ends on 30 September 2020.

Moreover, he pointed out that the state’s authorities have exerted great efforts to facilitate all the procedures for a mechanism to end reconciliation requests for construction violations and legalize its status according to the law.

He also directed the officials at Cairo's districts to receive all construction violation reconciliation requests submitted by citizens without any obstacles after paying the examination fees set by the law. Then the applications will be presented to the specialized technical committees for assessment while giving the applicant a certificate stating that he submitted an application allowing him to suspend all the issued proceedings until reaching a verdict.
