Admission requirements for military academy, colleges under 2026 university admissions process

General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, attended the press conference announcing the admission of new batches to the Egyptian Military Academy and military colleges. The admissions include holders of the General Secondary Certificate, Al-Azhar Secondary Certificate, and equivalent certificates; holders of higher education qualifications to work as combat officers; and holders of higher degrees (Master’s and PhD) to work as specialist officers.

The announcement also included the acceptance of new batches for the Armed Forces Health Institutes, Military Sports Schools, and the first batch of Kayan University at the Armed Forces under civilian status (October 2026 intake).

The conference was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; Dr. Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Information; commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces; a number of senior military officials; public figures; media representatives; and students of the Egyptian Military Academy.

During the conference, the general admission requirements were announced for the following categories: Military Academy and military colleges (General Secondary Certificate and equivalents), combat officers, specialist officers, and Armed Forces health institutes:

1- The applicant must be an Egyptian citizen, born to parents and grandparents holding Egyptian nationality (not through naturalization), and neither the applicant nor their parents may have acquired another nationality.
2- The applicant must hold a General Secondary Certificate or equivalent qualification / a university degree for combat officer applicants, provided that the qualification was obtained in 2025 or 2026.
3- Applicants who obtained their General Secondary Certificate or equivalent in 2025 must be enrolled in an Egyptian university or Egyptian institute.
4-The applicant must not have previously been convicted of a criminal offense or a crime involving moral turpitude.
5-The applicant must have a good reputation and conduct.
6-The applicant must be unmarried and must never have been married, and must pledge not to marry throughout the period of study at the academy (for applicants from secondary schools, health institutes, and combat officer programs).
7-The applicant must not have previously resigned from or been dismissed for disciplinary reasons from any military or civilian college, institute, or school.
8-The applicant must not have been exempted from military service due to medical unfitness. Male applicants (combat officers, specialist officers, and postgraduate applicants) must submit their military service status documents.
9-Minimum height requirements: Male applicants: 170 cm for all military colleges, except the Air Force College, which accepts a minimum height of 158 cm, Female applicants: 155 cm minimum.
10-The applicant must successfully pass the aptitude and personal abilities tests.
11-The applicant must be medically fit according to the medical fitness requirements set by the General Military Medical Council of the Armed Forces.
12-The applicant must successfully pass physical fitness tests.
13-Male applicants must successfully complete the confidence jump test from a height of 7.5 meters into a swimming pool, without hesitation and on the first attempt, within no more than three seconds after receiving the command to jump.
14-The applicant must pass various psychological tests.
15-The applicant must excel in the qualifying tests (English language, computer skills, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology) according to the college for which they are applying.
16-The applicant must pass advanced medical examinations, including specialized advanced tests, as well as advanced physical fitness tests.
17-The applicant must pass the personal interview (selection board evaluation) according to the assessment of the examination committee.
18-Scores for Al-Azhar Secondary Certificate holders and foreign certificate holders will be calculated after equivalency adjustments.
19-The applicant must submit written declarations confirming full compliance with the application requirements and affirming that all documents and information submitted in the admission file are accurate.
20-Applicants holding university qualifications (Bachelor’s degree, License degree, or postgraduate degrees) must have graduated from Egyptian universities (public, private, or national universities) only, and not from higher institutes or academies, except graduates of the Engineering and Computers, Information and Artificial Intelligence colleges at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, who may apply as specialist officers only.
21-Reserve officers, conscripted officers, female officers on assignment, and Armed Forces personnel currently in service are allowed to apply under the same conditions and regulations.
22-Female applicants accepted into the Egyptian Military Academy or health institutes must wear the approved military uniform assigned to them by the Ministry of Defense from the date of their enrollment and after graduation.
