Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber attended the celebration organized by the Cairo Education Directorate at the King Fahd Distinguished Official Language Complex, marking the 1057th anniversary of Cairo’s National Day.
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Eng. Mona El-Batrawi, Director of the Education Directorate Dr. Hemat Abu Keila, and several officials from the Cairo Governorate.
During the celebration, Governor Saber stated that celebrating Cairo’s National Day is an opportunity to reflect on the capital’s rich history, which spans more than a thousand years, as well as the development projects that Cairo is witnessing recently. These projects embody Egypt’s vision of building a modern capital that preserves its identity and cultural heritage. He also praised the educational system’s role in instilling values of belonging and loyalty to the homeland among the younger generations.
Moreover, Saber expressed his happiness at participating in the celebration organized by the Education Department to mark Cairo’s National Day. He also congratulated those present on the academic year's end. He commended the final exams for being carried out with discipline and organization. Additionally, he expressed his appreciation to everyone involved in the educational process for their efforts, which ensured the exams were conducted with integrity.
Saber further stated that the state places enormous importance on the education sector, viewing it as the fundamental pillar for individual development. He added that Cairo Governorate has about 2.9 million students in pre-university education, which represents a major responsibility that requires continuous expansion in establishing schools and classrooms, as well as enhancing the quality of the educational process.
Governor Saber highlighted the progress made in technical education, noting that three of Egypt’s top technical education students are from Cairo. He emphasized the ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive support to the sector and expanding partnerships with the private sector to align technical education with labor market needs. This will contribute to preparing qualified technical professionals who possess the necessary skills and secure genuine employment opportunities.
Saber also explained that the governorate continues to implement the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to prioritize the development of education. He added that Cairo currently has 25 Egyptian-Japanese schools, in addition to the establishment of new schools in Mokattam and Zahraa El-Maadi, contributing to the provision of a modern educational system that meets the requirements of the New Republic.
During the celebration, Saber visited an exhibition of students’ products, including a collection of artworks, projects, and innovations created by the students. He hailed the creativity and excellence reflected in the exhibition, stressing the importance of nurturing and developing student talents.
Furthermore, Saber praised the awareness models designed by students to highlight the national and developmental projects being undertaken by the state, including the New Administrative Capital and the development project of the Magra El-Oyoun Aqueduct area. He added that these models reflect a high level of student awareness regarding the achievements taking place in reality. He directed that a study be conducted to generalize these models and implement them across Cairo’s schools, recognizing their role in promoting national awareness and strengthening students’ sense of belonging.
The celebration also featured several art shows and performances presented by students from several schools in Cairo, which were highly praised by the audience for their talent, creativity, and steadfastness. Additionally, there were performances that showcased the capital’s deep-rooted history and highlighted values of patriotism and pride in their country.
