The Ministry of Health and Population announced that more than 10.2 million newborns have been screened under the presidential initiative for the early detection of hearing impairment and loss. This came as part of the state’s efforts to expand comprehensive health coverage and provide high‑quality care with the latest medical advances.
The ministry explained that the initiative is aligned with the state’s efforts to guarantee safe living conditions for newborns and to achieve the targets of the presidential initiatives under the slogan “100 Million Seha”, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
It added that the initiative aims to detect cases of hearing impairment and loss among newborns at an early stage, thereby contributing to the rapid identification of cases and timely intervention.
