Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, conducted a field tour of the Southern District, which included the neighborhoods of Maadi, Basatin, and Dar El Salam, to follow up on the level of services provided to citizens, assess the condition of roads, main routes, and streets, and monitor road rehabilitation, paving, and improvement works. These efforts aim to enhance order and improve the overall appearance of the capital.
During the tour, the Governor directed officials to quickly improve roads and rehabilitate areas in need of maintenance and paving works, while giving attention to street lighting, landscaping, and improving cleanliness. He emphasized that improving the condition of streets and upgrading the services provided to citizens are among the top priorities of the governorate’s executive work.
The Governor also supervised the Cairo General Traffic Administration’s removal of a number of illegally parked and abandoned vehicles from the streets. He directed officials to promptly identify and remove all deteriorated and abandoned vehicles and take the necessary legal measures against them.
Dr. Ibrahim Saber stressed the need to immediately address vehicles parked alongside traffic islands and sidewalks located in the middle of roads, as they obstruct the movement of pedestrians and vehicles and negatively affect traffic flow. He also emphasized the importance of continuing traffic campaigns to eliminate practices that obstruct movement on the streets.
The Governor further stressed the need for continued field monitoring and increased implementation rates of road development and improvement projects, in full coordination between district authorities and the relevant executive bodies. He also called for prompt responses to citizens’ complaints and efforts to resolve them, in order to maintain order on the streets and improve the level of services provided to citizens.
The Governor was accompanied during the tour by Ashraf Mansour, Deputy Governor for the Southern District, along with several senior governorate officials and members of Parliament.
