EMA: extremely hot, humid weather expected… Cairo high 39°C

Meteorologists at the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predict that extremely hot and humid weather will prevail daytime hours across most parts of the country, while the northern coasts will experience hot and humid conditions. At night, the weather will be warm and humid over most areas.

Dr. Iman Shaker, Head of the Media Center at the authority, stated that rising humidity levels increase the perceived temperature in the shade by 2 to 4°C. She added that the weather will be hot and humid during the day in northern regions up to Greater Cairo, and extremely hot and humid in South Sinai and Upper Egypt. At night, it will be warm and humid across most areas.

The EMA forecasted the expected weather from Sunday, July 26, to Thursday, July 30, 2026, indicating a slight temperature drop of 2 to 4°C across the northern regions up to Cairo, as well as in northern Upper Egypt.

Shaker said that morning fog is expected between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. on several roads to and from the northern cities extending to Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. She added that winds will pick up intermittently across most of the country.

The authority added that winds will persist today along certain coastal areas (Salloum, Matrouh, Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Damietta, Port Said, Arish), driving waves to 1.5–2.5 meters. Beachgoers are therefore advised to follow safety guidelines.

Meteorologists predict that Cairo will see highs of 39°C and lows of 25°C.
