Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber attended the graduation ceremony of the first batch of May University in Cairo at the Manara International Conference Center. The inaugural cohort included graduates from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Politics, Economics, and Business Administration. The event was attended by Ibrahim Mahlab, former Prime Minister of Egypt; Dr. Nageh Galal, Chairman of the university’s Board of Trustees; and Dr. Moheb El-Rafie, President of May University in Cairo, alongside university leaders, faculty members, and graduates’ families.
Governor Saber said that May University represents an important addition to Egypt’s higher education system, adding that the graduation of its first batch marks an important milestone and the beginning of a new chapter in university education.
Saber stated that the university contributes to expanding access to higher education and building educational institutions capable of keeping pace with the requirements of the modern era and labor market demands.
Saber further said that the university holds special significance as one of Egypt’s modern universities, aiming to provide an educational model that combines academic knowledge with practical application. It also seeks to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to compete in the labor market and contribute effectively to the country’s development drive.

Saber added that the university’s strategy aligns with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to advance higher education, improving educational quality, investing in human capital, and preparing generations capable of adapting to future challenges in line with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.
The governor stated that education is no longer limited to awarding academic qualifications but is one of the fundamental pillars of building the modern state and a cornerstone of sustainable development. It develops qualified cadres with the capacity for innovation and creativity and the ability to transform knowledge into practical solutions and opportunities that serve both society and the national economy.
Moreover, Saber said that May University's celebration of its first batch represents the beginning of a new journey, during which the institution bears the responsibility of continuously enhancing its educational system, strengthening its capabilities, and improving its outcomes. This will contribute to remaining an active partner in preparing professionals required by the labor market and supporting the state's efforts to build a brighter future.
During the ceremony, Saber congratulated the graduates, saying that their academic success would not have been possible without the support of their families, who played a vital role throughout their academic journey.
Saber further stated that earning a university degree is not the end of the road but the beginning of a new phase of work, contribution, and responsibility. He added that society places its hopes in graduates to transform their knowledge and learning into tangible achievements and to channel their ambitions toward serving their country and advancing its progress.
At the end of his speech, Saber expressed his appreciation to the Board of Trustees, university administration, faculty members, and all those who contributed to preparing the university’s first graduating batch, wishing May University more success and progress in its educational mission.
