Dr. Amr Kandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting with Dr. Hanadi Mohamed, Head of the Medical Professions Development Sector, and Dr. Mohamed El-Akkad, Director General of the General Administration of Specialized Medical Councils, to launch and activate the electronic system for processing assignment modification procedures for medical professionals. The system is designed to expedite transactions, improve accuracy, and safeguard the rights of assigned medical professionals.
The Deputy Minister said the system began a pilot operation in mid-August and that all testing phases had been completed, confirming its readiness for full implementation as of the beginning of this week. The move reflects the Ministry’s commitment to making procedures easier for medical professionals, reducing the burden on them, saving time and effort, and ensuring that their requests are processed more quickly, accurately, and transparently.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that assignment modification procedures related to an employee’s health condition previously required repeated trips between the Assignment Administration and the Specialized Medical Councils to submit documents and undergo medical examinations, followed by a wait for the results to be sent by mail. This placed a significant burden on applicants and involved lengthy procedures.
With the activation of the electronic system, the procedures have become easier and faster through electronic connectivity between the relevant authorities and the exchange of data and medical examination results digitally. This reduces the need for travel and paper-based document submission, while helping expedite the completion of procedures and the decision-making process.
Abdel Ghaffar stressed that the system is not limited to simplifying procedures and saving time and effort. It also ensures greater data accuracy, reduces human intervention, minimizes the potential for errors or manipulation, enhances transparency, and guarantees that every assigned medical professional receives their rights in accordance with the approved rules and procedures.
The initiative comes as part of the directives of Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar to advance digital transformation and improve services provided to medical professionals, ensuring faster service delivery, greater procedural efficiency, and protection of the rights of assigned staff without unnecessary burdens or hardship.
