Uganda's Vice President visits Egyptian Civilization National Museum in Fustat

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat welcomed Uganda's Vice President Jessica Alupo and her accompanying delegation in the presence of Ambassador Mohammad Farouk, Egypt's Ambassador to Uganda, as part of her official visit to Egypt.

Upon arrival, Vice President Alupo and her accompanying delegation were warmly received by Dr. El-Tayeb Abbas, CEO of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. During the visit, Dr. Abbas briefed her on the museum, its history, and its cultural and civilizational mission. He also highlighted the museum's role in introducing Egypt's history and heritage across the ages, as well as its cultural and community role.

The visit included a tour of several museum halls, including the Central Exhibition Hall, the Royal Mummies Hall, and the Egyptian Textile Hall, where the vice president and her delegation explored the museum's rich collection of artifacts, highlighting the wealth, diversity, and continuity of Egyptian civilization over thousands of years, from prehistoric times to the modern era.

During the tour, Ms. Jessica Alupo expressed her admiration for the museum and its outstanding collections, praising the exhibition design and display techniques that reflect the greatness, richness, and diversity of Egyptian civilization. She particularly commended the Royal Mummies Hall and the unique museum experience it offers visitors.

Ms. Jessica Alupo also expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome and the excellent arrangements made for the visit. She also stressed the importance of culture and heritage in strengthening communication and mutual understanding among peoples. She added that the River Nile represents a historical and cultural bond linking Egypt, Uganda, and the peoples of the Nile Basin. She also said it is vital to foster cultural and civilizational cooperation and exchange between the two countries and among African nations.

Concluding the visit, Dr. El-Tayeb Abbas presented the vice president of Uganda with a commemorative gift in appreciation of her visit to the museum.
