Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber has decided to form an engineering committee to inspect the building located in Abdel Tawab Alley, off El-Damarani in the Manshiyat Nasser neighborhood. The building collapsed after a fire broke out in a ground-floor carpentry workshop. The committee will assess the extent of the damage to neighboring buildings caused by the collapse.
The governor’s instructions were issued as he supervised firefighting efforts, accompanied by all relevant authorities. He also confirmed that the seven families who had been residing in the building are being relocated to alternative housing in the city of 15 May.
