Public Prosecution organizes workshops on combating violence against women, supporting Victims

The Judicial Inspection Department of the Public Prosecution organized six training workshops for 170 female members of the Public Prosecution nationwide, under the title: "Enhancing the Capacities of Female Prosecutors in Crimes of Violence Against Women and Victim Support." 

The workshops were conducted in collaboration with the World Bank and the National Council for Women, following the directives of Prosecutor General Counselor Mohammad Shoukry to enhance the skills of Public Prosecution members and improve their professional performance.

The first workshop was inaugurated with speeches delivered by Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, and Counselor Hisham Jaafar, Head of the Office for the Protection of Children, people with Disabilities, and the Elderly at the Judicial Inspection Department. 
During the inauguration, Ammar and Jaafar emphasized the importance of strengthening the capabilities of female members of the Public Prosecution in handling cases of violence against women and protecting the victims.

The training workshops covered mechanisms for investigating cases of violence against women and the various types of related crimes and methods for protecting and assisting victims, as well as crimes such as human trafficking, female genital mutilation, child marriage, and cybercrimes targeting women. They also included techniques for extracting and securing digital evidence, along with effective communication methods for interacting with people with disabilities, delivered through specialized lectures and practical applications.

The training workshops were attended by a select group of officials and members of the public prosecution, along with representatives of the World Bank and the National Council for Women, as well as specialized experts. The workshop concluded with participants receiving training certificates.

A closing ceremony for the program was held in the presence of the president of the National Council for Women; the head of the Office for the Protection of Children, People with Disabilities, and the Elderly; the regional representative of the World Bank; and the deputy British ambassador to Egypt. The event featured presentations by two participants highlighting the main pillars and outcomes of the program, as well as a presentation by the World Bank team on the lessons learned.
