Education Minister and Cairo Governor Inaugurate Al-Shabrawishi Schools Complex in Dar El-Salam

Today, Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, inaugurated the Al-Shabrawishi Schools Complex in the Dar El-Salam district of Cairo Governorate, as part of the state’s efforts to expand the construction and development of educational facilities and increase schools’ capacity. The initiative aims to provide new educational spaces for students and address high student densities in some areas.

The inauguration was attended by Eng. Yousry Salem, Assistant Minister of Education and Technical Education for the General Authority for Educational Buildings; Eng. Ashraf Mansour, Deputy Governor for the Southern District; Dr. Hemat Ismail Abu Keila, Director of the Cairo Directorate of Education; Brigadier General Zaki El-Gayar, Military Advisor; as well as a number of members of the House of Representatives and senior officials from the Ministry, the Directorate, and Cairo Governorate.

The complex comprises three schools and accommodates approximately 4,000 students, supporting the educational process in the area, reducing classroom overcrowding, and providing a more suitable learning environment. The complex accommodates students from Ahmed Orabi, Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, and Dar El-Salam Primary Schools, making optimal use of the capacity of educational buildings and facilities in line with the area’s actual needs.

At the beginning of the tour, the Minister and Governor reviewed the expansion plan and ensured that there were no students attending second-shift classes. The expansion plan included 74 classrooms, 8 kindergarten classrooms, 3 libraries, and 4 laboratories. They also followed up on discipline and attendance at the school, inspected several classrooms, and checked that classes were proceeding regularly and that students were attending.

The Minister and Governor also inspected classrooms, administrative offices, laboratories, libraries, and school activity areas to ensure the smooth operation of the educational process and the provision of high-quality educational services to students at various levels.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized that the Ministry attaches great importance to improving the quality of the education system and enhancing the level of educational services provided to students. He noted the Ministry’s commitment to continuing the expansion of schools nationwide, particularly in densely populated areas, to ensure a suitable educational environment for students.

For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, affirmed the Governorate’s commitment to supporting all efforts to develop the education system, expand the construction and development of schools, and improve the efficiency of educational facilities, thereby contributing to better educational services for students.

At the conclusion of the tour, the Minister met with a number of parents outside the school complex and listened to their views on the educational process and the services their children receive at the complex.
