Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber attended a seminar held in cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority in the main conference hall of the Cairo Governorate headquarters. The seminar focused on the authority's role in promoting good governance and enhancing performance efficiency to prevent and combat corruption. This aligns with the state's efforts to foster a culture of integrity, reinforce transparency, improve the performance of the administrative system, and encourage community participation in achieving sustainable development.
The seminar addressed the authority's roles and responsibilities, as well as methods for preventing corruption through the application of digitalization and governance, including the separation of service providers from service seekers. It also discussed mechanisms for combating corruption, particularly crimes such as bribery, misuse of public funds, and embezzlement.
During the seminar, Governor Saber stated that the Egyptian government places great importance on combating corruption by implementing a comprehensive system based on prevention, transparency, and good governance. He also said raising awareness about the importance of community participation is a key pillar of development and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
Moreover, Saber praised the role of the Administrative Control Authority in promoting good governance and enhancing performance efficiency to prevent and combat corruption. He also commended its efforts in fostering a culture of integrity and prevention. Saber emphasized that raising awareness of transparency and governance principles is a key pillar of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy and that cooperation between executive bodies and civil society institutions is essential for supporting development and ensuring the optimal use of public resources.
During the seminar, Saber reviewed the role of civil society as a key partner in supporting the state's efforts. He added that the Cairo Governorate employs various mechanisms for community participation that help identify citizens' needs, propose solutions, engage in implementing initiatives, and monitor their outcomes. He emphasized that these mechanisms strengthen trust between citizens and executive bodies, enhance performance efficiency, and improve the quality of decision-making.
Moreover, Saber stated that the governorate is working to expand communication channels with citizens through the Unified Government Complaints System, while supporting the roles of NGOs, residents' associations, and community leaders. These efforts reinforce social oversight, strengthen transparency and accountability, and contribute to the efficient use of resources while ensuring citizen satisfaction.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Saber stated that the governorate will continue to support community initiatives and is committed to strengthening partnerships with civil society institutions and the private sector. He added that these efforts consolidate values of integrity and transparency, contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and improve citizens' quality of life.
