Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber attended a ceremony honoring outstanding participants in the “Art Street” performances in downtown Cairo, as well as those who provided logistical support that helped sustain the street’s success. This recognition was given in appreciation of their contributions over the past eight weeks since the initiative’s launch, which enriched the events, showcased promising talents, and encouraged artistic and cultural creativity aimed at entertaining citizens.
The celebration was attended by Deputy Cairo Governor Dr. Ahmed Anwar Al-Adl, President of the Academy of Arts Dr. Nabila Hassan, as well as several officials from the Cairo Governorate and the Academy of Arts.
Governor Saber praised the Ministry of Culture and the Academy of Arts for their pivotal roles in the success of the “Art Street” project. This project has become a leading cultural and artistic platform that embraces creative energies, contributes to promoting fine arts, revitalizing the cultural spirit in the capital, and highlighting Cairo’s rich cultural and aesthetic heritage. He also expressed gratitude to all partners involved in this success, including the executive bodies and supporters of the project.
Governor Saber noted that the ongoing organization of these events embodies the state’s vision of promoting culture and arts as essential means of raising public awareness and reinforcing national identity. He added that the governorate will continue to provide full support to initiatives that enable young people to present their talents and creativity to the public.
Moreover, over the eight weeks since Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouli launched the “Art Street” initiative, the street has witnessed notable attendance by several ministers, public and media figures, artists, and innovators.
During this period, 24 days of events were held, featuring hundreds of artistic performances with the participation of dozens of artists and innovators from the Academy of Arts, the Ministry of Culture, visual artists, traditional craftsmen, and artisans.
The events attracted widespread public engagement, drawing thousands of visitors of all ages from Egypt, neighboring Arab countries, and around the world. Consequently, “Art Street” has transformed into a vibrant hub of life and creativity, earning extensive praise from Egyptian, Arab, and international media. It has become a prime example demonstrating Egypt’s soft power and its ability to inspire globally.
