The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has announced the launch of five "Egyptian-Italian Pharma" Schools for Applied Technology, with classes set to begin in the 2026/2027 academic year. The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population, the Egyptian Drug Authority, and the Technological Institute for the Pharmaceutical Industry in Rome.
This initiative is part of the Ministry's strategy to expand specialized educational programs that meet the needs of key economic sectors and strengthen partnerships with government institutions. It also aligns with the Ministry's vision for advancing technical education by introducing modern specializations that keep pace with the rapidly evolving labor market and prepare skilled technical professionals with the scientific knowledge and practical expertise required to work in one of the country's most strategic sectors—the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
The Egyptian-Italian Pharma Schools for Applied Technology will offer a specialization in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Healthcare through advanced study programs that combine academic education with hands-on practical training. This approach is designed to equip students in accordance with the latest accredited systems and standards while meeting the demands of local, regional, and international labor markets.
The new schools will open at five locations across three governorates: (East Nasr City, Cairo - El Sahel, Cairo -Helwan, Cairo- Central Alexandria, Alexandria
- Omraniya, Giza).
The launch of these schools reflects the Ministry's commitment to diversifying technical education pathways and introducing future-oriented specializations that support Egypt's sustainable development plans. The schools aim to prepare qualified graduates with the scientific knowledge and practical skills needed for careers in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality control, pharmaceutical supply chains, and healthcare, thereby enhancing graduates' competitiveness and expanding their employment opportunities.
The Ministry also emphasized that expanding the network of Applied Technology Schools is a key pillar of its strategy for reforming technical education. The model focuses on delivering high-quality education, fostering partnerships with national institutions, and aligning education with the needs of productive and service sectors. This approach is intended to prepare future generations for the jobs of tomorrow while supporting the country's economic development across various sectors.
