Cairo Governor sets secondary school admission minimum at 225 marks

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber approved the admission coordination for secondary schools for the academic year 2026/2027, setting the minimum score at 225 marks. Service classes will have a threshold 40 marks below the general secondary admission score.

Dr. Hemmat Abu Keila, the director of Cairo's Directorate of Education, stated that applications for admission to general secondary schools in public schools will only be accepted from students who are residents of Cairo. They also must have obtained their general basic education certificate from a school in Cairo. Moreover, it is strictly prohibited for first-year secondary students from other governorates to transfer to Cairo schools unless they have been coordinated through their home governorate in accordance with the ministerial decisions regulating this process.
