Cairo's Metro Line 3 transforms into cultural stage as of April

If you travel across Cairo by the metro, and you happen to use stations on Line 3, then you are expected to witness special artistic performances happening for the first time at this line. 

This comes as the Ministry of Transport announced fruitful collaboration with the Ministry of Culture to organize a series of cultural and artistic events within metro stations during April

This collaboration underscores the importance of making arts and cultural activities accessible to all citizens, enriching the public's daily experience and supporting the dissemination of cultural awareness in Egyptian society.

This move comes under the directives of the Ministry of Transport and the supervision of the National Authority for Tunnels, RATP Dev Cairo.

The events include a diverse range of performances suitable for all age groups, with the following schedule:

Wednesday, April 1: A performance by the "Simsimiyya" band at Imbaba Station (from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM).

Wednesday, April 8: A special puppet show at Abbasiya Station (from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM).

Wednesday, April 15: A folk music performance at Cairo University Station (from 12 PM to 2 PM).

Monday, April 20: An art exhibition opens at Safaa Hegazy Station and will run for two weeks.

Wednesday, April 22: A special musical performance for people with disabilities at Nasser Station (from 12 PM to 2 PM).

Wednesday, April 29: A diverse art exhibition at Heliopolis Station (from 12 PM to 2 PM).

Reviving Heritage and Supporting People with Disabilities

This month's events feature a unique blend of folk heritage revivals and children's performances.

The initiative also includes a special musical performance for people with disabilities at the Nasser Interchange Station, in addition to the ongoing art exhibition at Safaa Hegazy Station in Zamalek, transforming the metro journey into a comprehensive cultural experience that transcends its role as a mere daily commute.
