Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman Gomblat affirmed that boosting domestic manufacturing and attracting more investments will top the ministry’s priorities over the upcoming phase.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Karim Farag, Executive Vice President of SC Johnson for Asia and Australia, as both sides explored prospects for enhanced industrial co-operation.
Gomblat stressed the ministry’s openness to forging productive strategic partnerships with local and international firms in a manner that serves mutual interests and supports Egypt’s broader industrial development goals.
He underlined that advancing domestic manufacturing through the integration of artificial intelligence applications is a central priority for the next stage. The ministry, he added, is pressing ahead with plans to localize advanced technologies, attract additional investments and boost exports, in line with efforts to curb the import bill and strengthen national industrial resilience.
The minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to maximize the utilization of available resources and assets, while capitalizing on surplus production capacities at companies affiliated with the ministry. These capacities, he noted, are being channeled into the manufacture of high-quality civilian products at competitive prices, reinforcing the sector’s contribution to the national economy.
For his part, Farag commended the Ministry of Military Production as a cornerstone of Egypt’s defense manufacturing sector and one of the state’s leading industrial arms. He expressed SC Johnson’s interest in opening new avenues of co-operation with the ministry’s subsidiaries, particularly in light of their advanced manufacturing infrastructure, technological capabilities and skilled workforce.
