President Sisi welcomes UAE President on state visit to Egypt

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, affirming the strength, solidity, and depth of the historic relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples.

Presidential spokesman Ambassador Mohammad El-Shennawi President Sisi welcomed his esteemed guest to “his second home” at Alamein airport, stressing the special place that the President of the UAE holds for Egypt and its people—an extension of the bond established by the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Al Nahyan with the Egyptian people. “The fraternal visit will last several days," according to the spokesman.

He added that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his deep appreciation to President Sisi for the warm reception, valuing the brotherly and historic ties that unite the leaderships and peoples of the two nations.

The two leaders met last June at Al Shatie Palace in Abu Dhabi to discuss strengthening economic, trade, and investment ties.

Their talks also addressed the urgency of restoring security and stability in the Middle East, achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, and facilitating the exchange of prisoners and captives.

That meeting followed Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s earlier visit to Cairo in March, which included an iftar banquet hosted by El-Sisi.

During the visit, the two sides focused on expanding economic development and investment partnerships, reaffirming their shared vision for regional stability and prosperity.
