Egyptian amb. to France hails growing momentum in bilateral relations

Egypt's Ambassador in Paris and permanent representative at UNESCO Alaa Youssef applauded the growing momentum in Egyptian-French relations, which have recently been crowned with the important visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Egypt in April.

That visit contributed to elevating the two countries’ relationship to the level of strategic partnership, said the Egyptian diplomat during a ceremony held at the “House of Egypt” in the International University City in Paris, in celebration of the 73rd anniversary of July 23 Revolution.

He said Macron’s visit saw the signing of several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in strategic sectors, including health, transportation and renewable energy, commending the fruitful cooperation between both countries at the economic level.

Youssef said the “House of Egypt” has become a symbol of cultural and scientific cooperation between Egypt and France, and a shining cultural and civilizational beacon for Egypt in the heart of Paris, reflecting the Egyptian state's commitment to supporting its youth abroad and promoting its scientific and cultural presence worldwide.

He described the July 23 Revolution as a significant turning point in the history of modern Egypt, with a far-reaching impact that extended beyond its borders, to serve as a role model for seekers of freedom and independence.

A great host of French officials and public figures attended the ceremony, along with a large number of Egyptian expats in France.
