Egypt is bracing for a modest breather from the heatwave that has gripped the country, with forecasters predicting a dip in temperatures from Sunday through Thursday.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said conditions will ease slightly, with mornings expected to be mild and humid before giving way to hot afternoons and sticky nights.
South Sinai and Upper Egypt, however, will remain sweltering, with highs pushing towards 39C.
Elsewhere, the mercury will hover between 30C and 33C along the northern coast and in Greater Cairo, while high humidity will make it feel two to four degrees warmer.
Night-time breezes should bring some relief, though early risers face mist on roads across northern Egypt, particularly around Cairo, the Suez Canal cities and central Sinai.
The EMA also issued warnings for parts of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez, where winds of up to 50 kilometers per hour could whip up waves as high as 2.5 meters, disrupting maritime traffic.
