Egyptian Culture Minister Ahmed Fouad Hanno stressed that Egypt is keen to continue joint work with Azerbaijan in the fields of culture and arts.
The minister’s remarks came during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Adil Karimli on the sidelines of the "OIC Cultural Festival: Baku Creative Week - 2025" in Baku.
They discussed ways to enhance cultural and creative co-operation between the two countries in the presence of Egypt's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hossam Eddin Reda.
Hanno affirmed the importance of moving forward and building upon the outcomes of the Sixth Session of the Joint Committee between the two countries, which was held late November in Cairo, to strengthen bilateral co-operation in the fields of culture and creative industries.
The meeting addressed several cultural areas of mutual interest, including organizing a number of reciprocal events and forums in the fields of cinema, theater, music, visual arts, and book fairs, sharing expertise in creative industries, museum development, and heritage preservation, and establishing joint training programs for workers in the cultural sector.
For his part, Karimli praised the Egyptian participation in Baku Creativity Week, emphasizing that Egypt's presence adds a special cultural dimension, given its ancient civilization heritage and pioneering creative experience.
The minister further explained that Azerbaijan looks forward to expanding co-operation with Egypt in heritage, arts, cinema, and institutional expertise exchange. Karimli also highlighted the importance of establishing long-term programs that contribute to linking creators and cultural institutions in both nations.
