PM follows up on efforts to restructure economic bodies

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, held a meeting on Monday, August 4th, 2025, to follow up on efforts to restructure economic authorities, attended by Mr. Ahmed Kouchok, Minister of Finance, General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, Mr. Mohamed El-Faisal, Chairman of the Central Auditing Organization, Dr Hussein Issa, Advisor to the Minister of Planning and Economic Development on Economic Authority Restructuring, and a number of officials from the relevant authorities.

The Prime Minister affirmed the government's commitment to continue its efforts in the restructuring of economic authorities by taking executive steps in this regard.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also stated that the restructuring of economic authorities is part of the broader government efforts in the field of economic reform and the development of various state institutions.

During the meeting, Dr. Hussein Issa discussed the efforts of the technical secretariat concerned with the restructuring of economic authorities over the past period and its cooperation with several economic authorities to implement the planned restructuring plans in this regard.

Mr. Mohamed El-Homsani, the official spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, stated that the meeting included discussions on several visions and ideas regarding the available options for restructuring a number of economic authorities.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister directed that communication be established with several economic authorities subject to restructuring in the upcoming period in order to commence the implementation of restructuring procedures.
