Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk, received Monday Ambassador Mohamed Mostafa Orfi, the incoming Egyptian Ambassador to Romania and Moldova, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector between Egypt, Romania, and Moldova.
The meeting addressed ways to advance agricultural relations, review opportunities for exchanging agricultural expertise and technology, and explore mechanisms to enhance agricultural trade between the two countries.
The possibility of cooperation in the areas of food security and joint agricultural investment was also discussed, in light of the growing importance of these sectors globally.
The Minister of Agriculture affirmed Egypt's keenness to expand cooperation with Romania and Moldova, noting Egypt's significant potential in the agricultural sector, which could serve mutual interests. He further indicated the possibility of joint cooperation including the production and manufacture of agricultural equipment and machinery, and establishing Egypt as a regional center for the distribution of Romanian agricultural equipment in Africa, as well as opening new markets for Egyptian agricultural products.
For his part, Ambassador Mohamed Mostafa Orfi expressed his aspiration to work on strengthening economic and agricultural relations between Egypt, Romania, and Moldova during his tenure, emphasizing the importance of the agricultural sector as a fundamental pillar for strengthening ties between the countries.
