Egypt launches education, life insurance initiatives for citizen abroad

Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Mohamed Abdel Latif, the Minister of Education and Technical Education, jointly launched the ’Your School in Egypt’ initiative during the sixth edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference, held in Cairo on August 3–4, 2025.

This initiative aims to deliver high-quality educational services to the children of Egyptians living abroad, enabling them to study Egyptian curricula through the latest technological tools. It also seeks to reinforce their cultural and educational ties with their homeland.

The Your School in Egypt marks a significant step in the state’s efforts to integrate technology into education and strengthen knowledge-based connections between Egypt and its diaspora.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the sixth edition of the Egyptians Abroad Conference, attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, on Sunday. The two-day conference saw broad participation from members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and over 1,200 Egyptian expatriates from 40 countries.

The conference shed light on the state's efforts to support expatriates, introduce new initiatives and facilitations by various ministries and national bodies, and explore educational and investment opportunities in housing, agriculture, and industry.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, signed a cooperation protocol with Islam Azzam, Vice Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority, as part of the "Your Insurance in Egypt" initiative.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Farid, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority.

The protocol aims to enhance the insurance policy for Egyptians abroad and their families, providing coverage for the risks of death and total disability. It also expands eligibility to include all Egyptians residing abroad—not just those employed overseas—and increases the insurance payout from EGP 100,000 to EGP 250,000.

This cooperation marks a significant step forward in strengthening the state's support for its citizens abroad and reflects a firm institutional commitment to ensuring social and financial protection for all Egyptians.
