Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) directed internet service providers to offer additional compensation to fixed internet users affected by the fire at the Ramses Exchange building.
In a statement, the NTRA stated that prepaid fixed internet users will receive an additional data bundle equivalent to 50 percent of their original package, free of charge. Postpaid users will receive a 30 percent discount on their monthly bill.
The measure is part of the authority’s efforts to mitigate the impact of the fire and uphold users’ rights following widespread service disruptions.
The NTRA added that it continues to monitor service quality and is coordinating with operators to prevent future disruptions.
