Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has approved the launch of a new national initiative titled “Egypt is with You”, aimed at protecting and empowering children of martyrs, civilian victims, and injured minors affected by war and terrorism.
Set to begin on 1 January 2026, the initiative will be implemented under the supervision of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), with Misr Life Insurance Company, managing funds allocated to minor beneficiaries until they reach adulthood.
The announcement came during El-Sisi’s meeting with Major-General El-Sayyed El-Ghaly, head of the Fund for Honoring Martyrs, Victims, Missing Persons, and the Injured, and Major-General Ahmed El-Ashaal, the fund’s executive director.
According to Presidential Spokesman Mohammad El-Shennawi, the President reviewed the fund’s annual report for FY 2024/2025 and praised its efforts to meet beneficiaries’ needs and ensure sustainable support for families of those who sacrificed for the nation.
President El-Sisi also directed the Ministry of Higher Education to grant tuition exemptions and reductions for the children of martyrs and injured beneficiaries at public, private, and national universities and higher institutes, and instructed the Health Ministry to provide free medical treatment for civilian beneficiaries not covered by health insurance.
He was briefed on several joint initiatives implemented by the Fund in cooperation with Al-Azhar and the Ministries of Youth and Sports, Local Development, Awqaf (Religious Endowments), and Communications and Information Technology, aimed at expanding social, educational, and developmental services for families of martyrs and victims.
In a related move, President El-Sisi approved extending the fund’s coverage to include Foreign Ministry staff who die while serving abroad.
