Egypt hosts Global Congress on Population, Health & Human Development

Under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egypt is preparing to host the Global Congress on Population, Health, and Human Development (PHDC) from November 10 to 13, 2025, in the New Administrative Capital.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Population on Sunday, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, held an extensive meeting to follow up on the final preparations for the congress, which will convene under the theme “Empowering People. Advancing Progress. Unlocking Opportunities.”

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the executive arrangements of the congress’s higher committee, emphasizing the importance of presenting a distinguished scientific program that highlights population issues, family development, human development, applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and the outcomes of presidential health initiatives. These issues will be discussed with the Ministerial Group for Human Development and various international institutions, to ensure the event reflects Egypt’s leadership and global standing in these fields.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that 9,480 participants have registered to date. He noted the scale of participation in the accompanying exhibition and the diversity of topics to be addressed in the specialized forums scheduled on the sidelines of the congress.

He added that the Minister directed the review and presentation of the results and strategies launched during the previous two editions of the congress, ensuring that key outcomes and recommendations are showcased during this year’s sessions.

The Minister also instructed that media campaigns be intensified across all platforms to encourage wider participation and raise public awareness of key health topics. Additionally, he ordered the deployment of a mobile laboratory unit and a mobile cardiac catheterization lab at the exhibition venue to offer immediate screening and diagnostic services for attendees, reinforcing the congress’s alignment with Egypt’s national health initiatives and its focus on practical, community-oriented engagement.
