President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, during which they discussed enhancing bilateral relations and addressing the latest regional developments.
The two leaders stressed the importance of expanding economic and investment cooperation, encouraging more French companies to participate in Egypt’s development projects.
The talks also focused on the Gaza crisis, with the duo emphasizing the need for an immediate ceasefire, the exchange of hostages and detainees, and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid.
They warned against the risks of escalation and a broader conflict, with Macron praising Egypt’s diplomatic efforts to stabilize the region.
Sisi underscored Egypt’s commitment to stability in the Horn of Africa, particularly Somalia, through bilateral support and African Union peacekeeping missions.
He expressed cautious optimism about the recent Ethiopia-Somalia agreement mediated by Turkey, hoping it aligns with international law and supports regional peace.
