Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said the goals shared by Egypt and Denmark serve as an important bridge for communication and dialogue between the two friendly countries.
They also offer a precious opportunity to promote cooperation at various levels, Sisi said during an official dinner hosted by the King of Denmark Frederik X on the occasion of President Sisi’s historic visit to Denmark.
Sisi noted that it had been all natural to make the Kingdom of Denmark his first stop on his current tour of Northern Europe, just as Denmark chose Egypt to be its gateway to Africa, as part of its strategy to cooperate with African countries.
“We have a shared responsibility to spread the values and principles of justice and peace, equality, tolerance and mutual respect among nations and cultures, and to reject war, violence and hatred during this critical period of human history,” Sisi said.
Sisi said that his current visit to Denmark came at a time when bilateral relations are seeing remarkable growth in various domains, not to mention the two countries’ close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
He expressed hopes that his current visit would be crowned with signing a declaration that would elevate this relationship to a strategic partnership.
Sisi said the launch of the Egyptian-Danish business council, and the spirit of consensus that prevailed during his talks with the Danish monarch and CEOs of major Danish companies operating in Egypt, had all reflected a strong belief in the importance of furthering bilateral relations, particularly in light of the enormous opportunities available in both countries.
Thanking his hosts for their warm welcome, Sisi invited them to visit Egypt to celebrate the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum dedicated to one of the oldest civilizations in history.
