Egyptian Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq said that security is an essential pillar of development. The Interior Ministry is working to upgrade the security system and the efficiency of its elements through well-studied scientific programs, Tawfiq said in his speech during a ceremony marking the graduation of a new batch of students of the Police Academy in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Those programs have been designed to prepare policemen to carry out their duties, he noted.
Tawfiq also said the unrest at the regional and international levels has spilled over into the political and economic potentials of the world’s peoples. It has resulted in challenges as great as Egypt’s geographic location and responsibility as a leading country in the region, he noted.
Tawfiq added that his Ministry is well aware of the challenges facing the nation and is intensifying efforts to achieve the concept of comprehensive security.
