The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC)
said Monday that Egypt is among world countries that has huge reserve of
quartz. The IDSC said the purity of Egyptian quartz reaches 99.9 percent, which
is a big asset that earns it a competitive advantage at the international
level.
The government is currently working on a strategy to settle the quartz-related industries in Egypt, rather than exporting it as a raw material, the IDSC noted.
Quartz, a hard crystalline mineral composed of silica, is used in many industries, including the manufacture of photovoltaic cells, solar panels, and high-quality quartz panels, as well as the ceramics and electronics industries.
