Egypt braces for a spell of unstable, hot weather thru Friday

Egypt is in for a spell of unstable weather conditions through Friday, with possible chances of thundershowers, strong winds, and soaring temperatures nationwide.

Stay hydrated and wear loose clothing as much of the country will experience a heatwave in the coming days with higher humidity levels, reported the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

According to the EMA, the North Coast, South Sinai, and Upper Egypt expect hotter weather, with moderate nights in the country’s northern part and hot in the south.

Light to moderate rain, and possibly thundershowers, are expected in several southern regions.

Strong southerly winds are also expected to whip up sand and dust on some roads across the country, with conditions intensified by downdrafts from thunderclouds, added the EMA.

However, maritime navigation in the Mediterranean and Red Seas will remain stable with 1-1.5 meters of wave height.

Highs in Greater Cairo and Nile Delta will hover between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, while feels-like temperatures are expected to reach 37-39 degrees this week.
